New Things
Welcome to the first ever addition of Monday Motivation! As I’ve said before I’m not really sure yet what I want this to be or where I want it to go - but that is the topic of the day: New Things.
New things can often be intimidating. There are so many unknowns. Who know what is going to happen when you do this or that.
The way I see it there are two ways to approach a new thing. Just jump in and figure it out, or the way I’ve always done it - think about all the variables for so long that you never actually do anything.
This email is a great example of that. I had the idea about a year ago, couldn’t commit to actually doing until I was at lunch with a friend this past January and he ~forced~ me to commit, and then haven’t been able to follow through until now, mid March.
The other option of just jumping into things without thinking also has its dangers and I think there should be a balance, but I think many of us find ourselves on the other side of the scale way too often. Too scared to commit or do new things because there are too many unknowns.
So that is my challenge to you this week: think less, do more. I know that is an over generalization but I’m serious. If there’s been something you’ve wanted to do/start for a really long time (like me with this newsletter) now is the time to do it! And with Corona shutting everything down right now I know you’re probably just at home watching Netflix so you have the time.
At the end of the day you only get one chance at life. So you might as well live it rather than let it pass you by.
Stay Motivated,
- Dan
P.S. In case you didn’t know, I send Monday Motivation out every week as a part of my email newsletter, you can subscribe by clicking here.
If you like this newsletter or know people who you think might like it - please share it to them! That would mean more to me than you know. Also, if you have any feedback for me on how to grow or move forward with this, let me know that as well! I’m all ears :)
